Diagnostic performance of a vessel-length-based method to compute the instantaneous wave-free ratio in coronary arteries

This study evaluates a noninvasive, vessel-length-based method for computing the instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) in coronary arteries using a combination of three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and a lumped parameter model (LPM). The study involved 32 patients and compared computed iFR (CT-iFR) with clinically measured iFR. The results showed good diagnostic accuracy, suggesting that CT-iFR could serve as a noninvasive alternative for guiding percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) strategies.
